La pizza al cofano

Eating on the road

Pizza.
A word that just brings back a thousand memories with friends, family and happy times. Pizza was always there in good times and bad. Maybe you ate it in a starred restaurant, or on a friend's patio, but have you ever tried to eat it on the car?

Let me explain myself better because I might be misunderstood, when I mean on the car I certainly don't mean that you have to ruin the bodywork by sitting on the roof of your passenger car be clear.... I know you care a lot about your two-wheel.

In fact, what I mean is eating a pizza on the hood of your car. Here in our area there are several pizzerias that offer take-out only, which means engineering yourself to be able to eat pizza without any trouble!

It is very likely that you are now experiencing memories of when we were kids, as soon as we got our driver's license and without a penny in our pockets we decided to go out in grandpa's panda and meet friends for some pizza.

Simple moments are always the best ones

Now let's not digress, I'm not calling anybody old, okay?
We are all young at heart, and with so much potential to give ... age is just a number and yadda yadda yadda (insert usual phrases here so as not to offend anyone)

However, sometimes the older we get, the more we want to be "comfortable.".
So now I will talk about my personal experience on my first hood pizza, eaten strictly by the sea between the car and the drywall.

Imagine a late summer evening, you are 18 years old and you are taking a ride in your friend's car who recently got his driver's license. You have all the windows rolled down because the car is without air conditioning, of course. You are chatting about more or less, the end of high school, talking about future plans, and then all of a sudden the question "Ma ce se mange staser?" (but what are we eating tonight?)

And they silent as the grave. No one knew what to answer, until a fabulous smell of pizza passes under our noses, coming from a pizzeria near the beachfront. So without a second thought, we approached the pizzeria, drew lots on who should go down to order, and waited anxiously for our pizzas (that night it was not my turn fortunately 🤣)

As soon as our friend comes out with pizzas in hand, we turn off the machine and put down the pizzas on the hood to keep them still warm thanks to the car engine. That action was completely automatic, as if it was something we had done a thousand times before, perhaps we did it because our parents were telling us about their teenage evenings spent eating pizza near the harbor with a beer in hand. So we ate and spent the evening, carefree.

We were happy and we didn't know it.
But I can tell you that to this day we still get to eat pizza at the hood next to the beach, and if you've never done it, I recommend you try it.
